Carrie brings her first-hand knowledge and experience to each training. Carrie has been in the education field for over 20 years and has spent the last 18 years dedicated to advocating for those on the Autism Spectrum.

Let's Train

We offer two training Options:

Option 1- All Member Agency Training

In-person

  • No limit to the number of members per class/session
  • Able to record sessions for later viewing or for members not able to attend session

Option 2- Alternative Training Modality

Online Platform

  • No limit to the number of members per class/session
  • Able to record sessions for later viewing or for members not able to attend session

Learning Objectives and outcomes for our training

  • Identify characteristics of Autism behaviors including: Self Stimulatory Behaviors (Stimming), and what they mean for EMS professionals.
  •  Creating a plan to de-escalate behaviors
  • Recognize that in an unexpected situation an Autistic person's brain may not respond to typical/normal directions or demands
  • Practical exam interaction tips
  • Practical ways to communicate with those who do not use verbal communication
  • Search and Rescue considerations
